Rare JFK Assassination Footage Auctioned
An 8mm color home film capturing the moments after President John F. Kennedy's assassination has been sold at auction for $137,500. The footage, which shows the presidential motorcade racing to the hospital, was offered by RR Auction in Boston to an anonymous buyer.
The film includes a 10-second clip from Interstate 35, depicting Secret Service Agent Clint Hill protecting the president and First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy. Bobby Livingston, executive vice president of the auction house, described the footage as providing 'a gripping sense of urgency and heartbreak.'
